Excel Supplements
Excel is a brand of omega 3 supplement for horses, dogs and even livestock. Their products are made with a proprietary and non-GMO blend of cold press camelina oil. These supplements are FEI and competition safe, vet approved and backed by research. They also only use company owned ,all natural, ingredients.
Camelina oil
Camelina oil is made from the oilseed Camelina Sativa. Researchers’ became interested in Camelina because of its high level (up to 45%) of omega-3 fatty-acids. It is uncommon to have this level of omega-3 fatty-acids in plant based sources. Mainly comprised of polyunsaturated fats, cold pressed. Camelina oil helps provide structure to cell membranes.
It also contains vitamin E in two forms, alpha and gamma tocopherol. These compounds protect the oil from oxidation and rancidity wich is why this product can be preserve for 18 months.
Some oils, like flax oil, are high in omega 3 but oxidize quickly wich counteract their benefits.
Since camelina oil is produced from plants, its is highly palatable to horses.

It has been proven that omega-3 fatty-acids help support a horse’s immune system and reduce inflammation throughout the body.
Studies have shown that feeding omega-3 can prevent and heal damage to nerve cells.
Omega-3 can also lessen inflammation in the serotonin pathways in the brain, allowing for more serotonin receptors to activate. Serotonin affects mood; the lower the levels of serotonin are, the more anxious or nervous a horse can be.
Omega-3 can also help improve digestive health, enhance fertility, and improve coat condition. In addition, horses with skin sensitivity and allergies have greatly benefited from regular omega-3 supplementation.
